Honesty is always the best policy. Employers need to know that they can trust you with everything from company credit cards to trade secrets. How can you work at honesty? You demonstrate integrity every day that you do your own homework and resist the temptation to cheat on exams.

What is honesty?

·        Honesty is telling the truth.

·        Honesty is straightforward conduct.

·        Honesty is being sincere, truthful, trustworthy, honorable, fair, genuine, and loyal with integrity.

You are being honest when you…

·        Do your own homework.

·        Tell a friend the truth

·        Explain the real reason you didn’t turn in your homework.

·        Keep your eyes on your own paper

·        Clean up your room after making a promise

·        Give the cashier the extra money she gave you by mistake

·        Write a report in your own words instead of copying

·        Admit you made the mistake

·        Keep a friend’s secret

·        Turn in a wallet full of money that you found

Student Success Statement

This statement is saying that the only way you will get far in life is by always saying the truth. Truth is very important in everyone’s life and something that many people do but it’s not right. Sooner or later they will get caught in their lie. If you’re always saying lies then people won’t trust you anymore. So if you want people to trust you, then always tell the truth.

This statement means that unless you know what you’re about to do is right then you should do it. But if it’s not the right thing to do, you need to think about it and realize that you are not making the right choice. Once you realize is not right try to make things right. For example, if you took a test and a week later you get back. You notice you were supposed to get a lower score, the right thing would be to tell the teacher there has been a mistake. When this happens usually the teacher leaves it like it is because you told them the truth.
