Summary: This story is about a man named Alex Schwazer, competitor in the Olympics. He won a gold medal in race walking. The day after his winning he got kicked out of the London Games for blood doping. The Italian was actually happy that he had gotten caught using illegal substances.

Reflection: This is sad to hear because you expect the competitors in the Olympics to play fair. I don’t know how they feel happy because they won. They used illegal drugs to achieve it, they didn’t do on themselves. They had help from those illegal drugs they consumed.

 

Summary: This story is about a young girl named Marion Jones that participated in the Olympics. She had won many medals during the Olympics and there was a time where she won 5 medals at once. Of course, she was happy and the people that liked her for making these achievements. But there was a downfall; she did not achieve this in a right way. She cheated by enhancing drugs and lied to the federal. After she admitted what she had done, she was sentenced in jail for 6 months.

Reflection: Marion Jones chose the wrong. No one should ever cheat in an important competition like the Olympics. But even though she chose the wrong she admitted what she had done. She probably did it because her conscience wouldn’t leave her alone.

 

Summary: The story was about two young women named Jenna and Deb. They were competing in an important race. They were both tied for first place. When the race began, Deb was winning and out of the sudden she stopped. She stopped because her growth plate snapped off. She wasn’t able to walk. Since Jenna was behind Deb she decided to help her. Jenna makes sure that Deb touched the finish line before she did. Jenna received an extreme “Sportsmanship” award from U.S Olympic Committee.

Reflection: This was a nice action done by Jenna. Not many people wouldn’t of done what she did. It’s nice to hear that there is people that help others when they are in a competition.
