Student Success Statement

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing.”

-         Theodore Roosevelt

In life every individual will have to make many decisions. In every decision that someone has, the best thing to do is to make the right choice because you won’t have to regret anything later on. For example, is if you have to choose between taking care of your brothers or going out with friends. The best thing to do is to stay home and take care of your brothers.

“It’s better to be alone than to be in bad company.”
-         Anon
This statement is saying that if you’re going to be around with people that are always choosing the wrong then it’s better to be alone. When you’re by yourself you make good decision. You don’t have people that pressure you to do something you don’t want to. You should always be around people that choose the right and that have a positive attitude. For example, if you hang out with people that do drugs then you need to get away from them. You would find other people that choose the right or it doesn’t matter if you’re alone because you’re not doing anything wrong.

“Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man’s doing but my own. I am the force.”

-     Elaine Maxwell

This statement is saying that everything you do it’s because of you and only you. If you do something bad don’t be blaming other people for your actions, but only yourself. Nobody told you to do what you did; you are responsible for the actions/decision you make.

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens

BY Sean Covey

For teens, life is not a playground, it’s a jungle. And, being the parent of a teenager isn’t any walk in the park, either. In his book, the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, author Sean Covey attempts to provide “a compass to help teens and their parents navigate the problems the encounter daily.”

How will they deal with peer pressure? Motivation? Success or lack therefor? The life of a teenagers is full of tough issues and life-changing decisions. As a parent, you are responsible to help them learn the principles and ethics that will help them to reach their goals and live a successful life.

While it’s all well and good to tell kids how to live their lives, “teens watch what you do more than they listen to what you say,” Covey says. So practice what you preach. Your example can be very influential.

Covey himself has done well by following a parent’s example. His dad, Stephen Covey, wrote the book 7 Habits of Highly Successful People, which sold over 15 million copies. Sean’s a chip off the old block, and no slacker. His own book has rung in a more than respectable 2 million copies sold. Here are his seven habits, and some ideas for helping your teen understand and apply them:

“Goodness is the only investment that never Fails.”

-          Henry David Thoreau

This statement means that when you make the right decision you will not fail. Things will happen as you had planned. But if you make a wrong choice then things will fail.

Student Success Statement

“It is our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and (to make) unpopular that which is unsound (and not good).”

-Joseph Smith

This statement means that we should try our best to make things that are right popular. We should influence those people that are not choosing the right to make the right decisions. Whatever they did wrong, they should try to make the best out of it.
